Cotopaxi National Park is conveniently accessible from Quito, Ecuador’s capital, making it an ideal destination for day trips or extended explorations. The park is open year-round, but the best time to visit is during the dry season, from June to September, when the skies are clearest.

+ Cotopaxi National Park has its own local tour guides; it is mandatory to hire one of them and pay $60 for their services, which include transportation in a special van that can reach the parking lot near the first refuge.
